SMALL SAVINGS INCENTIVE SCHEME FOR DEPOSITORS
The Small Savings Incentive Scheme for the depositors of Orissa has been started w.e.f 1.4.1993. The Scheme is applicable in 2 blocks of 6 months each in a year is from January to June and July to December. The depositors are supplied with a free coupon for each deposit of Rs. 1000/- either in KVP, NSC, MIS, RD or PPF for which a draw takes place on the last Sunday of February (for July to December Block) and last Sunday of August (for January to June Block Period) The details of prizes are given below :-

This Scheme is very popular in our District and about 1,40,000 coupons are being issued per block period at present. So far our District has bagged a 1st prize, 4 Nos. of 4th Prizes and several other prizes through this scheme. The `U' Series is going on at series is going on at present and coupons are available with DSSO at Collectorate, SSOs of each Sub-Division and SEOs of the Blocks other than headquarters Blocks.
PAYROLL SAVINGS SCHEME
Pay Roll Savings scheme is an ideal savings scheme for salaried employees. Basing on the option of an employee a fixed amount is deducted from his salary every month and deposited in a PORD acct. by the cashier/accountant for five years. On completion of 5 years the employee draws the matured amount form the post office. Thus by this scheme savings become automatic on the pay day it self. On the deposit there also issued with a coupon on each deposit of Rs. 1000/-. This scheme is popular among the salaried employees of our district.
